It can be very difficult to ask for help. The Montlake PTA is here to help you and all help is strictly confidential. We have anticipated increased needs within our community during the pandemic and we have allocated $20,000 to help families through this difficult time. Please contact Julie Pearson if you have any financial difficulties at this time.
Seattle Public Schools has resources to help with childcare and meals. Check this link for the latest information and help.
SPS Meal Sites: SPS will be expanding to additional sites, 40 in total. Check this website for the list of current sites; it will be updated with the additional sites once the list is finalized.
Tech Support: SPS will be setting up at least 8 technology resource centers across the city where students and families can get support in using devices and learning management systems, and troubleshoot things like internet access. More information can be found here.
Internet Access: this page has information on free internet options for families. This includes information on the Comcast Internet Essentials programs, which offers 6 months of free internet for those with a fixed address, and the SPS hotspot program, for families that move frequently/do not have a fixed address.
For general questions or concerns, families can send a message to the District by clicking the orange “contact central office” tab/button on the right side of the SPS website; once you click on the orange tab, you can select your language in the top right corner. Families can also call our Customer Service Support Center for assistance. The number is 206-252-0010. Please state the language needed and the call will be returned.
King County has combined its CARES Act funding with several other sources and announced the Eviction Prevention and Rent Assistance Program. If you or someone you know in King County is in need of rent assistance due to the coronavirus pandemic, this funding may be able to help.
There are other resources available in the community to help.
